Assemblyman, Recently Acquitted of Bribery, Indicted Again (Updated)

Three weeks after being acquitted of federal bribery charges in Manhattan, Assemblyman William  Boyland Jr. (D-Brooklyn) was arrested and charged on allegations that he solicited more than $250,000 in bribes from a carnival promoter and two undercover FBI agents — who he thought were out-of-state businessmen and real-estate developers.

Boyland pleaded not guilty and was released on a $100,000 bond.  If convicted in this case, Boyland faces up to 30 years in prison.
